bSerene is a program designed to teach meditation techniques as effective tools for relaxation, stress management, and inner peace. This bSerene application provides 3 short lessons in a guided meditation form (instructed by Dr. David Bole Ph.D., A.P. a fully ordained Lama in the Karma Kagyu tradition) that one can easily learn and practice. This application also has the special feature of an adjustable meditation timer. This allows the user to set precise time for their practice and to gradually extend and deepen their practice sessions. Proceeds from the sale of the application, will go to support the efforts of the Gainesville Karma Thegsum Cholings development of the retreat center.

This segment, and future applications to follow, is based on current medical studies showing the relationship between states of consciousness and health. A relatively new field of science called Psychoneuroimmunology (PNI) is the study of the interaction between psychological states and the functioning of the nervous and immune systems of the human body. Numerous studies have shown the interaction between mind and body in health and dis-ease. Explorers in human consciousness over thousands of years to the present time have found that meditation is a tool for improving health and well being. It is an effective way of bringing the body into physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual harmony without drugs and other potentially harmful interventions. This simple, easy and enjoyable practice of meditation can result in a feeling of greater inner peace, vitality and happiness. So let’s start meditating!
